Structural Appraisal Of Existing Floors
We have the expertise to carry out structural investigations and retrospective design analysis of existing floors. This can be part of a due diligence process for new owners or tenants or as required for a refit of a warehouse where loads are to be increased or where the original design information for the floor is unavailable. Structural appraisals can also form part of dilapidation surveys for building owners.
The process begins with a desk study of available construction information and history of the building. The loading analysis can then be specific to the client’s bespoke requirements or to institutional standards.
Investigations include concrete core sampling and testing, cover meter testing for reinforcement and dowels, and where needed, full geotechnical appraisals can be commissioned.
